Sorry this post is so late, but better late then never.  Should still have an hour to get your moves in here on Saturday.

Thursday night didn't go well, with Carlos Zambrano lasting an inning before being removed with a back injury and placed on the disabled list.  As always, can't predict injuries here... So just forced to take the bad inning of stats and move on.

Luckily Friday night went amazing to make up for Thursday.  Jason Vargas went the distance for his third complete game shut out of the year.  I alluded to the possibility in yesterday's column, and I turned out to be right.  Doesn't get any better really.  Nine innings of shut out ball off the waiver wire is as good as it gets, especially with a solid seven strikeouts.

Onto Saturday's starters.  It's the weekend, so that means a pair of starter recommendations for you all...

Saturday's Recommendation One - Bartolo Colon - New York Yankees at New York Mets - 4:10 PM ET - 40.6% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Bartolo has been surprisingly good all year, and that should continue here on Saturday as he comes off the DL to face the Mets.  The Mets offense had been hot coming into the weekend, but Ivan Nova and the Yankee bullpen combined to hold the Mets to just one run last night.  Bartolo has been pitching better all year than Nova, and I'm willing to start him here in his first appearance off the DL.  He's the kind of player that's only available in more than 50% of leagues because he is on the disabled list.  Get him while you can, before he's gone again.

Saturday's Recommendation Two - Doug Fister - Seattle Mariners vs San Diego Padres - 10:10 PM ET - 14.9% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Vargas rolled over the Padres lineup yesterday, and Fister is good enough to do the same to the here on Saturday.  Fister has had two straight starts of eight inning one run ball, and has worked at least 6.2 innings in every start going back to May 7th.  He is definitely a candidate for another solid complete game here on Saturday, so start him without fear here.

Saturdays Alternate - Cory Luebke - San Diego Padres at Seattle Mariners - 10:10 PM ET - 14.6% Owned  in ESPN Leagues

Luebke was good in his first start of the year against Atlanta, and has been solid in relief all year long.  His track record is still short, but the talent is there and you shouldn't worry too much.  If you can't get Fister or Colon, Luebke is a strong third option here Saturday.

And that's it.  No Deep League starter as I'm just trying to get this column out with the maximum time before rosters are due Saturday.
