Riding a nine game hot streak here into Friday, with the worst of any of the starts having come today.

Luebke was solid on Thursday and gave us six innings with just two earned runs and a flat 1.00 WHIP.  Not as good as the last few days, but still a very fine start when you add in the eight strikeouts.  Luebke is still striking out more than a batter per inning and gets to pitch in the friendly confines of Petco when he is home.  He's definitely worth a pickup if you need pitching help in your league.

Andrew Miller was the alternate option for Thursday, and he wasn't very good.  Three runs over five innings without any strikeouts isn't what you want out of a starter, but he did give you a win and that's why he was the alternate choice for the day.  Getting the win makes the start salvageable.

Friday is a good spot starter day, featuring many former recommendations.  We're going to go with a pitcher we've spot started for each of his last two rotation turns...

Friday's Starter Recommendation - Freddy Garcia - New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays - 7:05 PM ET - 21.5% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Garcia has been delivering solid outings for his last month worth of starts, but somehow he's still only owned in 21.5% of leagues.  That's good news for us, as he's one of the best starter options on the day out of every pitcher starting, not just the guys available in more than 50% of leagues.  The strikeouts aren't going to be there, but he is going to go out there and eat up innings and have a good shot at a win with the powerful Yankee lineup backing him up out there.  Start him without worry here.

Friday's Alternate Starter - R.A. Dickey - New York Mets at San Francisco Giants - 10:15 PM ET - 4.2% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Dickey is a guy I'm a big fan of and he is a solid alternate option here Friday night. The Giants offense hasn't been great at any point this year, and Dickey looked great in his last outing against the Yankees.  There is some worry that he might miss the start with a muscle strain, but if he goes out there and makes the start, he's worth your time here without worry.  Dickey isn't the type to go out and pitch poorly with an injury.  If he's in there, he'll gut out a good game for them.

That's all again today.  Second day in a row with no worthwhile deep league options out there.
