There were a few player moves in the NFL today, but I'm not going to write an NFL moves article today, as none of them really warrant me writing the column up.

On the subject of this post, Harden marked one of the few bad starts I've had over the last month.  An ERA over 6 is never helping your fantasy team.  The seven strikeouts is nice, but it can't be considered a successful start by any means when you let the Seattle Mariners score four runs on you.

Going to pick it up here today hopefully.  It's a short day of selections because it is a travel day, but I have a good option coming up...

Thursday's Recommended Starter - James McDonald - Pittsburgh Pirates vs Chicago Cubs - 7:05 PM ET - 5.4% Owned in ESPN Leagues

There are a few bigger names available here on Thursday, but they have drawn a few bad match-ups so we are going to slide McDonald out there on Thursday night.  McDonald is sporting a fine 7.79 K/9 on the year, even though his 4.35 BB/9 and 1.18 HR/9 are not very pretty.  I'm not too worried about his walk or home run tendencies here though, as the Cubs offense has been bad all year and mired in a bit of a funk since the All-Star Break.  McDonald shouldn't have too much trouble shutting them down here and racking up some strikeouts on the way towards a win.

Only recommended McDonald here today, if he doesn't go I wouldn't like any other alternate.
