Sunday capped off a nearly perfect week on Sunday night.  Both starters picked up wins and plenty of strike outs in the process.  The ERA and WHIP on the week were both very good, and five wins in seven starts is a great rate, especially when you are throwing for more than a strikeout per inning.

Unfortunately, I have to try and follow up that amazing week here in Week 17 as i start on Tuesday.  As always, the recommendation is available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues....

Tuesday's Recommended Starter - Rich Harden - Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners - 10:10 PM ET - 9.2% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Harden is too much of an injury risk to invest in long term, as the Red Sox also concluded the other day when they canceled their trade with Oakland.  However, as a spot start choice, hes obviously a good move here.  He's been striking out more than a batter per inning since starting the season recently after being activated from the DL in July.  Now he gets to go into Seattle and play the worst offense in the league out there in Safeco Field.  He'll turn in a great spot start here on Tuesday and is easily the best choice.

Tuesday's Alternate - Phil Hughes - New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox - 8:10 PM ET - 23.7% Owned in ESPN Leagues

Hughes looked solid enough in his last outing against Seattle, and is still playing with the Yankee offense backing him up.  He'll be good here against the White Sox, who will be without injured slugger Paul Konerko.  He'll grab some strikeouts along with good ERA and WHIP on the way to a win.  I think Hughes is going to have a nice bounce back second half here, and his value is only going to go up from here.

That's all I've got here for you today.
